Who doesn’t love sushi?!? Known as the sushi capital of Canada, Vancouver is home to many incredible sushi restaurants! This is a result of the asian influence and the abundance of fresh seafood available here.
A few years ago, another one of my besties, Carly taught me how to make sushi, and ever since, I’ve been hooked! Home-made sushi can be a lot healthier than restaurant sushi, and not to mention, VERY inexpensive to make. This particular time that I made it, I used half brown rice and half white rice. Sometimes I make it with all brown rice and it is also delicious! Make sure that Japanese rice is used though, otherwise the rice will likely not stick together and the roll will fall apart.
The sushi will keep well in the fridge for up to 2 days after it is made. I only slice the sushi right before it is eaten, otherwise I find that it dries out.
